First, an analysis will be conducted of how social partners are currently involved in political decision-making processes concerning the future of the automotive industry. Part of this analysis will involve evaluating collective agreements from various European countries with the aim of identifying innovative approaches and best practice examples for a successful transformation.

To this end, foresight workshops are held locally in the respective national language. Here, representatives of trade unions and employers‘ associations discuss possible future scenarios for the respective national automotive industry. Topics include, for example, the future demand for skilled workers, international economic relations, technological change and environmental regulations in their country.

Based on these discussions, a series of training courses will be launched in the participating organisations. The training concepts will be developed by NELA and then implemented by local partners in the respective national languages. The focus will be on structural challenges and power relations, existing favourable and hindering framework conditions, and the development of concrete strategies for local transformation.

In order to expand the scope of action of the social partners, the project is also developing a multilingual online tool for self-learning. It imparts basic knowledge about socio-ecological transformation and power structures and highlights practical opportunities for action. At the end, the results will be incorporated into the European exchange. A joint conference in Brussels will provide an opportunity to share experiences and publicise the ideas developed throughout Europe.
